Round table on the issues of Development Care System in Georgia
Development of Home Care in Georgia has a two decade history. Further development of this sector is related to the problems of nursing education, development of the legal frameworks and standards and local sources of funding. A round table, which was held on September 26, 2016 at the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia, was dedicated to the consideration of these problems. Participants of the round table: representatives of the Ministries of Health and Education, Tbilisi Municipality, educational and healthcare centers and NGOs recognizing outstanding importance of this problem decided that these issues deserve attention of the conference called on the national level in December 2016. Experts and representatives of the government will work in three thematic working groups to prepare materials for the conference. Caritas Georgia, Patriarchate of the Georgian Orthodox church, UN Population Fund, Red Cross Society of Georgia, Tbilisi Municipality and the Patriarchate of Georgia Saint King Tamar University that initiated this process will host and steer the work of the thematic groups.
